Tikal the Echidna is a significant character in the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise, first appearing in Sonic Adventure.
She lived over 4,000 years ago as a member of the Echidna tribe. Tikal was a kind and compassionate soul, deeply connected to nature and often mediating conflicts within her tribe. Unlike her father, Pachacamac, who was obsessed with power and controlling the Chaos Emeralds, Tikal sought peace and harmony with the Chao, small, innocent creatures.
Her pleas for peace were tragically ignored. Pachacamac's ambition led him to attack the Chao and attempt to seize the Master Emerald. Tikal, heartbroken and desperate to stop the violence, imprisoned herself and Chaos, the God of Destruction born from the Chao's sorrow, within the Master Emerald.
Her spirit remained trapped within the Master Emerald, guiding those who sought to prevent Chaos's release. Tikal played a crucial role in helping Sonic and his friends understand the history and preventing the destruction of the world, acting as a spectral guide, revealing past events and offering crucial advice.
